The need for blood is constant, and The Blood Center wants to make it as convenient and rewarding as possible for our donors to help meet these needs.
The national agencies that regulate blood centers’ activities are making some changes that will impact some donors’ eligibility. Therefore, beginning Sept. 6, 2017, the Commit for Life program is changing too – to help ensure every donor can be rewarded for contributing.
What does this mean?
• New steps: The new program encourages donation frequency and engagement with The Blood Center. Although we encourage different donation types to meet patient needs, optimum donations will no longer be part of the program.
• New rewards: Earn points based on giving whole blood or an automated donation, keeping scheduled appointments, spreading the word and more.
• Membership for all: Make an attempted donation, and automatically become a Commit for Life program member. Your level will be determined by your donation activity each year, but your membership will not expire.
