Lone Star Family Health Center in Conroe celebrates the grand opening of their new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Congratulations to Lone Star Family Health Center in Conroe on the grand opening of their new facility in June!

Lone Star Family Health Center is the only federally qualified health center (FQHC) in the Montgomery County area. Many of the patients who are treated at a FQHC are treated regardless of their insurance status.

The center began hosting blood drives with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in August 2011, and their next blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You can make an appointment to donate by visiting and logging on to Digital Donor or by calling 1(888) 482-5663.

“We look forward to many more successful blood drives with Lone Star Family Health Center,” said Donor Recruitment Coordinator Gary Moore, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the center’s new facility. “Congratulations to the center on their beautiful new facility, which will enable them to help so many more people in the Montgomery county area.”

Saving Lives in Fort Bend County

Monday, April 9th, 2012

CenterPoint Energy hosted a community blood drive in Fort Bend County earlier this month, and shared these photos with us.

The drive collected 50 units – enough to help save as many as 150 lives! The chairpersons for this drive told us, “It feels good to be a part of a community blood drive – we know the importance of having enough blood available. It’s wonderful that when you host a convenient blood drive like this, so many people are willing to come out and give.”

Are you interested in hosting a blood drive in your community? Give us a call at (713) 791-6670, or visit our website to learn more:

Thanks to all who donated, and special thanks to Jeanette, Connie and CenterPoint Energy for making this such a successful blood drive!
