Priscilla, a retired nurse, was used to taking care of others but never expected to need serious care herself. In 2003, she was involved in a near-fatal car accident and within 24 hours, had used 26 units of blood. "The doctor was not even sure I was going to survive," she recalls. "I thank the blood donors for giving life back to me."
