Group Program Workbook
Your workbook will provide all the information you need to create
a successful blood drive program for your organization to Commit for
Life.
eBloodDrive Online Scheduler and Recruitment
eBloodDrive online scheduler and recruitment is your tool to promote
your blood drive, and to allow donors to schedule their appointments
online. You may use it to recruit and thank donors; create, change
or cancel donor appointments; and view your upcoming drives and appointment
schedules.
Recruit Plus Program Support
Recruit Plus is the way we will keep your donors informed about
the Commit for Life program. This donor contact program includes regular
e-mails and phone calls about Life Saving Opportunities, Facts About
Donating Blood, and scheduling an appointment for your upcoming blood
drives.
Customized Marketing Materials
The Blood Center provides customized Commit for Life marketing
support materials for your blood drives including posters, flyers and
table tents. In addition, we will provide reusable "Blood Drive
Today" banners, arrows and yard signs.
Chairperson Conferences
The Blood Center hosts quarterly conferences where you may gather
with other blood drive coordinators to learn more about the regional
blood program in our community, creative donor recruitment techniques,
and an overview of new tools.
Bronze, Silver and Gold-Level Groups
STAR Chairperson Newsletter
The STAR chairperson newsletter is our way of keeping you informed
as a blood drive coordinator. It includes upcoming promotions,
tips for using new tools, and spotlights on successful blood
drives or donor groups.
Quarterly and Annual Lifesaving Statements
The Blood Center will send you a quarterly and year-end progress
report of the life-saving efforts of your organization. This
report details your collection history over the past few years,
upcoming blood drive dates and times, and the goal for your Commit
for Life program. Share with donors, committee members and organization's
leadership the difference you are making in the lives of patients.
Certificate of Appreciation
The Blood Center recognizes the important contributions of those
organizations that host at least two blood drives per year with
a special Commit for Life Certificate of Appreciation.
Silver and Gold-Level Groups

Commit for Life Calendar Silver and gold-level Commit for Life groups will receive the annual Commit for Life calendar for each committee member. Each month features a touching story from one of the four quadrants of Commit for Life - recipients, donors, volunteers and employees. Stories shared include those of recipients whose lives were saved by a volunteer blood donor or why someone started the life-saving routine of quarterly blood donations. |

Category Awards At the "Celebration of Life" group recognition event, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will present our prestigious awards for outstanding achievements of donor groups, committees and blood drive chairpersons. As a gold level Commit for Life group, you are eligible to be nominated for Group of the Year, Event of the Year or the Bill T. Teague award. |
| Recognition at "A Gathering of
Heroes" As a gold level Commit for Life group, you are recognized at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center's "A Gathering of Heroes" celebration. This spring event honors gold-level Commit for Life donors from the previous calendar year. At the event, all gold-level Commit for Life groups will be recognized. This celebration is just one way we like to say thanks for all you do for the patients in the Texas Gulf Coast region. |

Did You Know...
Did you know that businesses and organizations that host blood drives are the "gateway" to more than 50 percent of the blood supply? If every group held just one more drive the blood supply could substantially increase to help patients in our region.
