Willis resident and blood donor Gail Bryant is the proud winner of a pair of airline tickets to anywhere in the contiguous United States on Continental Airlines. Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center randomly selected Bryant as a winner from all those who donated or attempted to donate blood during the month of October. The giveaway is part of the “Save Lives, See the World” promotion.

Bryant, an employee of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, Commits for Life by donating at her workplace at least once every quarter. She has been a blood donor for about 30 years. “It’s a great way to help other people,” Bryant said. “Blood is something you can’t get any other way than when people donate it.”

She has seen blood help save lives firsthand – not only in her workplace, but also when her mother-in-law became severely ill and required several units of blood. The blood she received helped sustain her life for another year after she became sick, Bryant said.

Individuals are encouraged to help meet the needs of local patients by donating blood. Commit for Life members who donate or attempt to donate in November will be entered to win one of two remaining pairs of Continental Airlines tickets for travel in the contiguous United States. They’ll also have the chance to win one of two pairs of BusinessFirst tickets to visit select international destinations.
