'A Celebration of Life' honors gold-level groups
The Blood Center honored its gold-level donor groups on Feb. 17 at the annual "A Celebration of Life" luncheon and awards presentation. Approximately 850 businesses, churches, schools and other organizations achieved the Path for Success in 2009 by hosting blood drives at least once every quarter.
Held at the Hilton Americas Hotel, the event featured a testimonial by Officer Lloyd Morrison, the Houston police officer who was seriously injured in an auto accident last year and has relied on blood donors throughout his recovery.
The Blood Center presented an award to Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, in recognition of their outstanding blood drive program and the thousands of lives they help save every year.
