Marrow Donor Program

Gulf Coast Marrow Donor Program

Every four minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer. For thousands of patients with leukemia or other blood diseases like sickle cell anemia, a marrow transplant is their only hope. You could save a life by joining Be The Match Registry®.

If you are between the ages of 18 and 44, patients need you. Doctors choose registry members between 18 and 44 more than 90 percent of the time. There are many other ways that you can help. You can become a volunteer, attend events, spread the word through communities and social media, and make a financial donation.

Untitled Chair Project

In an effort to help raise awareness about the dire need for registered bone marrow donors, local photographer Sean Blake is proposing a unique photography series about people within varying environments with the common element of one ordinary chair. The final result is a collection of portraits on Polaroids. See how one local patient, Briana, shined during their photo shoot and follow her and her battle against aplastic anemia.
