Donated Points Help Support Purchase of New Coach
The Blood Center has upgraded its fleet with the arrival of a new donor coach, which will replace an older donor coach.
The Blood Center gave donors the opportunity to help fund this coach by donating their Commit for Life store points back to the organization. So far in 2012, more than 895,000 points have been donated back to help offset the cost of the new coach.
The state-of-the-art coach is 40 feet long and features two screening rooms and four beds with automated collection technology and personal television sets at every bed. The individuals pictured on this coach are Perla, Ha and Cooper - see the 2012 Commit for Life Calendar to learn more about their stories.
Donor coaches are essential to The Blood Center's mission of helping save lives. Each coach can collect as many as 5,000 blood donations per year, saving up to 15,000 lives.
Thanks to all who supported the new coach!
