Congratulations Charles Lojo!

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is excited to congratulate Charles Lojo, the most recent winner in The Blood Center’s Continental Airlines giveaway. He was awarded two Continental Airlines tickets to anywhere in the contiguous United States after being randomly selected from more than 60,000 individuals who donated or attempted to donate between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2005.

A blood donor of nearly 30 years, Lojo Commits for Life by donating platelets two or three times a month. He said giving platelets is special to him because his adult nephew is battling lymphoma and has received platelets during the course of his treatment. “When I learned I could give platelets and how I could help patients, I knew that was what I wanted to do,” he said.

Bill T. Teague, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s president and CEO, was on hand to present the tickets at a Jan. 25 ceremony at The Blood Center’s headquarters.
