Congratulations Fire and Ice winners!
Thanks to all those who have Committed for Life and
donated in July! All individuals who donate or attempt to donate during
the month of July will be entered in the “Fire and Ice” giveaway,
in which weekly winners will be randomly selected to receive “Chill & Grill” sets
from Houston Coca-Cola. At the end of the month, one grand-prize winner
will be selected to receive a “Circle of Life” pendant
from IW Marks Jewelers, and another will receive a Weber grill.

Week 1: Amyee Byrd of Sweeny,
Texas
Amyee Byrd of Sweeny is a new donor who recently
chose to Commit for Life and help save lives on an ongoing basis.
Her second blood donation ever qualified her to win a “Chill & Grill” set
from Houston Coca-Cola. She is excited not only about her win
but also about her life-saving commitment.

Week 2:Heath Melton of Katy,
Texas
Heath Melton of Katy began giving blood
when he was in the military and continues his commitment
by donating with his company, KB Homes. He is a Commit for
Life donor who values donating because he says it’s a small contribution that
makes a big difference. He was awarded a “Chill & Grill” set
from Houston Coca-Cola. |

Week 4: Andrew Young of Katy
Andrew Young of Katy first started donating blood when he was in
high school, and today he Commits for Life because he sees the
need firsthand in his career as a police officer. He continues
his commitment by donating platelets and plasma at the Katy
Neighborhood Donor Center. His July donation qualified him to win
a "Chill & Grill" set from Houston Coca-Cola. |

Prize Winner #1
Juan Duque of southwest Houston is the proud owner of a new Weber
grill, thanks to his commitment to saving lives this summer. He
donates platelets and plasma at the Bill T. Teague Neighborhood
Donor Center and has been giving blood since he moved to Houston
three years ago. Previously, he lived in New York and donated there.
He says he started donating after the death of a close friend to
help ensure that others' lives would be saved. |
