Congratulations iPod Challenge winners!
Thanks to all those who have made it a life-saving summer so far by donating since May 30, when Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s iPod Challenge began! Individuals who donate or attempt through June 30 will be entered in a weekly drawing to win an iPod Nano. Help The Blood Center reach its June goal of 24,000 donations, and all those who donate or attempt to donate in the giveaway period will be entered to win an iPod with a BOSE speaker system. Congratulations to the following winners:

Week 1: Victor Parmigiani of Alvin, Texas Victor Parmigiani of Alvin continues his commitment and donates at Team Industrial in Alvin, whenever the company holds blood drives. He was randomly selected as the first week's winner in the iPod Challenge, and said that winning the iPod Nano is a great Commit for Life benefit in addition to knowing he has helped save up to three lives. |

Week 2: Maria Onufrow Maria Onufrow of The Heights recently started saving lives again by donating at her company, Sungard Energy, after becoming a new mother and taking time off from donating recently. She was randomly selected as the week 2 winner of the iPod Challenge, and is excited about her prize as well as being able to once again help others as a Commit for Life blood donor. |

Week 3: Jimeca Sims Jimeca Sims of the Westchase area is a brand-new Commit for Life member who won the iPod Challenge during week 3 for her first-ever attempt to give blood. She said that seeing the blood donor coach at Greenway Plaza, where she works at FKP Architects, makes her excited about the prospect of helping save lives. She plans on helping save lives on an ongoing basis now that she has chosen to Commit for Life. |

Week 4: Colleen Lyman Colleen Lyman of southwest Houston has been a dedicated blood donor since 1983. She began donating platelets when a close friend's granddaughter was being treated for leukemia, and has continued her commitment ever since. She now donates regularly at the Sugar Land Neighborhood Donor Center. She said she Commits for Life because it's an easy way to help others, and that winning the iPod was an exciting surprise. |

Week 5: Peter Craney Peter Craney of Cypress is a frequent donor at the Cy-Fair Neighborhood Donor Center. His June donation was special not only because it qualified him to win an iPod Nano, but also because he achieved 20 gallons with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. He is a Commit for Life donor who gives platelets and plasma on an ongoing basis. |
