Congratulations, Linda Barefield

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is pleased to congratulate Linda Barefield, a winner in April’s “Diamonds for Donors” giveaway. Barefield became the winner of a his-and-hers set of watches from IW Marks Jewelers when she received a winning scratch-off ticket for her
recent blood donation.

During the month of April, all Commit for Life members who donated or attempted to donate received a scratch-off ticket that could make them the winner of a terrific prize, like points for the Commit for Life store, watches or a piece of diamond jewelry, also from IW Marks. In the end, only 12 individuals will have won watches; only one will have won the diamond jewelry.

Barefield is an 18-gallon Commit for Life donor who lives in Onalaska but gives blood regularly at The Woodlands Neighborhood Donor Center, which is near her workplace. She first donated in 1983, as her son’s senior class worked to beat its previous record of most donations at a school blood drive. Her son has since passed away, but Barefield continues to give blood in his memory..
