GULF COAST REGIONAL BLOOD CENTER ENCOURAGES PASADENA COMMUNITY TO COMMIT FOR LIFE
New Neighborhood Donor Center Location Offers a Convenient Opportunity to Help Save Lives

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center invites Pasadena residents to Commit for Life. The Pasadena Neighborhood Donor Center relocated to a new facility Oct. 29 and will celebrate its grand opening on Dec. 4. The newly relocated center continues to give area blood donors a convenient opportunity to help save lives in their own community.

The Pasadena Neighborhood Donor Center is now located at 5124 Fairmont Parkway, between Ashley Furniture and J.C. Penney, and offers more conveniences than the previous site at 3315 Burke Road. The spacious, new facility measures more than 4,000 square feet and features eight donor screening rooms and 10 donor beds. The center also includes a large donor relaxation area and a children’s play area with toys, movies and Sony Xbox 360.

More than 800 blood donations are needed every day in the Texas Gulf Coast region, and individuals who Commit for Life and donate at least once every quarter help maintain an adequate supply so blood can always be available when needed. Every donation helps save up to three lives.

The Pasadena Neighborhood Donor Center is led by manager Krystil Walker and assistant manager Libby McClure, and is open Monday through Saturday. For hours of operation or to schedule your donation at the Pasadena Neighborhood Donor Center, visit www.giveblood.org or call the center at (281) 487-1055.

ABOUT US: Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is asking its donors to Commit for Life. It takes three simple steps: 1) Donate once per quarter; 2) allow The Blood Center to contact you; and 3) spread the word, encouraging others to Commit for Life.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is the primary supplier of blood components to more than 220 hospitals and health care facilities in a 25-county Texas Gulf Coast region.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have their parents’ consent also may donate. The donation process is simple, taking only about one hour.
