Local businessman helps advocates save more lives

The Woodlands Community Advocates formed a sweet partnership to make their Feb. 16 blood drive their biggest success to date.

Joe Welge, owner of Culver’s Frozen Custard in The Woodlands, stepped up to offer frozen treats to all who donated or attempted to donate during the drive.

Although the offer of Culver’s Frozen Custard to donors was a new incentive at this drive, Welge has been a supporter of The Woodlands Community Advocates for about a year. He has helped the advocates spread awareness of the drive by displaying posters and handing out flyers for the drive to his customers.

The advocates hold their blood drives at The Woodlands Neighborhood Donor Center, 3091 College Park Drive, Suite 130, in The Woodlands. They appreciate Welge’s encouragement of donors to Commit for Life – one great example of how communities working together can save more lives.
