Livingston Memorial Hospital Commits for Life
Livingston Memorial Hospital has taken the Commit for Life program to heart, hosting community blood drives every eight weeks – and producing amazing results. The hospital works with community leaders to promote the blood drives, not just in Livingston, but throughout all of Polk County.
This results in a consistently high turnout of no less than 100 donors at each drive. The hospital truly has a commitment to saving lives within their community, and the commitment of the staff is expected to keep gaining momentum. A new chairperson, Peggy Stapleton, accepted the leadership duties in August 2006 and is excited to share her enthusiasm about Commit for Life.
In May, at the “Celebration of Life” awards dinner, Livingston Memorial made a sweep in the hospital division. They took home the awards for having the greatest number of donations and highest percentage population. As soon as Peggy accepted her new role as chairperson, she made it her goal for the hospital to do the same in 2006. They are off to a great start with 322 units collected to date!
