Spotlight on Success

An ongoing commitment to helping save lives has made Foretravel Inc. a true Commit for Life partner with The Blood Center East Texas. The company has hosted blood drives since 1993, saving literally thousands of lives by welcoming donors every eight weeks. Although the family-owned business was sold in 2005, the new president and CEO, Lyle Reed, has continued his company’s commitment with frequent blood drives.
 
David King, human resources manager at Foretravel Inc., served several years as president of the BCET Advisory Council and continues to support The Blood Center’s life-saving mission.
 
In another true example of Commit for Life, Karen Moore has served as the blood drive chair for the company since the beginning – helping to set the drive dates, organizing each drive and recruiting donors.

“Karen kept the blood drives going, even during the transition of ownership of the company.  Her understanding of the importance of volunteer donors meeting patient needs in our East Texas region kept her working as a great chair,” says Linda Warner, recruiter for the Nacogdoches area.
 
All blood drive groups are encouraged to follow Foretravel Inc.’s example and host at least one blood drive a quarter to help save lives on an ongoing basis. Congratulations to Foretravel Inc. and all our Commit for Life groups for countless lives saved.
