Dedicated Blood Donor Wins 2005 Volvo S40

Volvo Winner

Congratulations to Tirso Villalobos! This dedicated blood donor is the new owner of a 2005 Volvo S40, generously donated by Volvo of Houston. Villalobos was one of 26 finalists randomly selected from those who donated, attempted to donate or visited a Neighborhood Donor Center or blood drive between April 1 and Sept. 30, 2005.

All 26 finalists met at Volvo of Houston on Oct. 20 for the Headlight Event, in which each finalist got a chance to draw a key and see if he or she could turn on the car's headlights. Villalobos held the winning key, and the 25 runners-up received new Raleigh M 20 mountain bikes from Bicycle World and Fitness.

Thanks to Volvo of Houston and Bicycle World and Fitness for their outstanding support of this effort, and to Bailey Connor Catering for their generosity in catering the Headlight Event. Thanks also to each of the finalists and all those who Commit for Life and donate to help save lives in the Texas Gulf Coast region.
