U.S. Rep. Pete Olson couldn't hide his excitement for the free, tasty snacks when he walked into the Sugar Land Neighborhood Donor Center. When I first met, Rep. Olson he sported a Texas flag facemask and an infectious enthusiasm to save lives with his O positive blood donation.
Why Donating Blood is a Priority for Our Family
While we initially started donating blood for different reasons, both Madeline and I are Committed for Life. It is such an important thing to do and you never know when you or someone you love is going to need a lifesaving transfusion of some sort. Did you know that 1 in 7 people will need blood at some point in their lifetime, but only 1 in 20 eligible donors will donate? That's only 5%!
Lifesaving Has No Limits
At 4 a.m., I secured a second console, and I’m excited to announce that one of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s heroic donors is going to win it. Every donor who gives blood between Nov. 12 and Nov. 27, 2020, is automatically entered into the contest.
