How can you start earning points?
To begin earning points, you must create a Digital Donor account. You can do so by visiting giveblood.org or downloading our Digital Donor app available on iOS and Android devices. New donors and those who don't have an account need to create one within 30 days of donating or they will lose their points.
What is the point structure?
Cellular Whole Blood: 600 points
Mononuclear Cell Apheresis: 2,500 points
Appointment kept bonus: 10 points for appointments made a minimum 24h in advance.
How can you redeem the rewards?
Log in to your Digital Donor account and visit the Rewards Store. Ensure you have the updated email address listed in your account. To update your email address, access My Account in your Digital Donor account and select Change Communication Preferences.
Your gift card will be distributed electronically, so we must have your current email address on file. If you order a gift card through the Rewards Store and don't see it in your email inbox, check your junk mail. Be sure and add us to your safe sender list, so you won't miss any of our updates.
Save Your Store Points
When a donor reaches 15 months with no donation activity, his or her points will be donated back to Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Inactive donors are encouraged to resume their donations before reaching the 15-month mark to keep their points from expiring and, more importantly, help save more lives.
Meet Rushi
RUSHI, an 8-year-old Houstonian, was born with a blood disorder called beta thalassemia major. He is a fun-loving kid. Jumping around is his favorite thing to do, but he can’t. Because of iron overload in his heart and liver, jumping can increase his heart rate dangerously. He can lead a normal, healthy life after he receives a blood stem cell donation from a genetically matched donor.
