Donate blood and raise a pint! Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is joining forces with Texas’ oldest craft brewery to show appreciation to donors who make a difference in our community. As a sign of gratitude for supporting patients in local hospitals, donors who give blood from October 1 to October 31, 2024, will be presented with a voucher for a free pint of beer to be enjoyed at Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s Beer Garden and Restaurant.

Marion is Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s first donor who passed the 200-gallon milestone. In 1983, he donated blood for the first time to help a family member in need. Since then, he has continued to donate blood for over 35 years. He is a passionate retired donkey breeder whose donor legacy lives on at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

Saint Arnold Brewing Co.

Since 2016, Saint Arnold Brewing Company has partnered with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to support local blood donation efforts. Founded in 1994, this popular Texas craft brewery has grown from a small startup into one of the largest independent breweries in Texas and received numerous awards for its commitment to quality. They are known for their community involvement and charitable efforts, frequently supporting local organizations and causes. As part of their community-focused initiative, Saint Arnold offers a voucher for a free pint of beer to those who donate blood. It’s our Pint for Pint promotion! This collaboration encourages life-saving donations and strengthens ties within our community, making a positive impact while celebrating the spirit of giving and craft beer.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood components 24/7 to more than 170 hospitals and health care facilities in a 26-county Texas Gulf Coast region. To meet the community's needs, we need about 1,000 donations a day, and all blood donors in the U.S. must be unpaid volunteers. Those units of blood are a vital lifeline for Houston’s healthcare industry and are used in surgeries, cancer treatments, and various medical procedures. This partnership is meaningful to our organization as it increases donor participation and promotes Saint Arnold’s brand and community engagement.
