Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, support patients, and raise awareness. Beyond treatment and research, there’s another critical part of the fight: blood donations.

Many people don’t realize that breast cancer patients often depend on blood transfusions during treatment. Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery can all affect blood counts, leaving patients in need of donated blood components.

· Red Blood Cells: Restore strength and energy for patients experiencing anemia.

· Platelets: Replace vital clotting cells lost during treatment and prevent dangerous bleeding.

· Plasma: Helps control bleeding and stabilize patients during surgery or intensive care.

These components can only come from volunteer donors, making every donation truly lifesaving.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. For breast cancer patients, that need is often ongoing as they go through multiple cycles of treatment. One donation can help up to three patients, providing hope and healing when it’s needed most.

This October, show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating blood. Your gift can give patients the strength to continue their fight and the chance to heal. Together, we can make a difference.

Schedule your donation today! The blood needed for tomorrow is donated today.
