Since the beginning of the Commit for Life program, our dedicated blood donors have helped save millions of lives, and we could not be more grateful.
There is no substitute for blood. It must be voluntarily donated by one person to be given to another. The need for different blood components – like red blood cells, platelets, plasma and source plasma—is constant. Giving on an ongoing basis helps ensure blood components are always available for the patients we serve.
About 1,000 donations are needed every day to help save lives in the Texas Gulf Coast region. That is why we encourage individuals to Commit for Life to help ensure a strong blood supply always is available.

Commit for Life’s Donor Rewards program is one small way we get to thank each of you who helps us save lives.
Please note: When a donor reaches 15 months with no donation activity, his or her points will be donated back to Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Inactive donors are encouraged to resume their donations before reaching the 15-month mark to keep their points from expiring and, more importantly, help save more lives.
What is the CFL Express Pass?
Before you can donate, you must complete a health history interview. CFL Express Pass allows donors to fill out those questions before they arrive for their blood donation. You can also complete the CFL Express Pass at your home or office and print out the resulting barcodes. Bring the sheet with you to the donation site, and staff will scan the paper to retrieve your data.
