Blood Donors Fill Shelves

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center saw a tremendous response in our community to our call for help, and we are no longer experiencing shortages.  As of today, our hearts and shelves are full.  We are so thankful for each one of your contributions.  

FDA Changes

More people can give blood and save lives with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center after the U.S. FDA changed its eligibility requirements as donations decreased in response to the pandemic.

Convalescent Plasma

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is collecting convalescent plasma from those who have recovered from COVID-19.


Baylor College of Medicine and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center have teamed up to procure COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma from appropriate donors and provide it to the most critically ill patients with COVID-19 infection as part of a transfusion study.

CenterPoint Energy

One of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s leading community partners, CenterPoint Energy, is doing its part to maintain the community’s blood supply by hosting employee blood drives at its facilities throughout the Greater Houston area.

Family of young patient with congenital heart defect asks for support

Noah Hollingsworth was born six days after his twin brother Lucas at just 27 weeks. Both boys needed blood. Then, Noah was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect requiring open-heart surgery.
