Colton’s Story:
A Young Fighter with a Bright Spirit
When Colton was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, his family’s world was turned upside down, and at one point, he experienced 14 seizures in a single day. After receiving IVIG infusions made possible through blood donations, his condition stabilized, and he began to return to his energetic and joyful self. His dad recalls being at a blood drive donating while Colton received his first infusion, a moment that showed him the full circle of giving, as other donors helped his son survive.
Thanks to those donors, Colton has regained his silliness, empathy, and playful personality, and he loves soccer, Hot Wheels, Legos, Minecraft, and playing with his siblings. His dad shares, “Without those blood products, I do not know that he would be here today. Blood donors are critical because of them, my son can continue to grow, thrive, and just be a kid.”
