Amelia’s Story:
Finding Strength One Transfusion at a Time

_{In February 2023, what seemed like a simple spider bite revealed something far more serious, and after weeks of concern, Amelia’s family learned she had leukemia. Since then, she has received more than 30 transfusions of red blood cells, platelets, and plasma, each one restoring her strength, color, and energy. Known as “Smiley,” Amelia radiates joy, dreams of becoming a fashion designer, and is a talented competitor who has qualified for the state archery tournament while also taking up tennis.}

_{Her family says this journey has brought them closer, with her brothers protective of their little sister, and their community has rallied with students at her mom’s high school joining blood drives in her honor. Her mom explains, “Blood donors are important because they save lives. They helped my daughter, and they help so many others in need.”}
