September is Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month. The National Association for Sickle Cell Disease, Inc. started to bring awareness to the disease in the 1970s. President Ronald Regan signed a proclamation in September of 1983 proclaiming September as National Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness Month.
Blue Bell is more than a sweet treat - it's a lifesaving partnership
There is a constant need for blood and blood products in the community to support local hospitals and patients. Partnering with Blue Bell is helping Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center offer an added thanks to the everyday heroes - our blood donors!
Replenish The Need
You may have seen a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center mobile blood drive taking place in the Houston, East Texas, or College Station area. There’s a chance the blood drive was being held for someone who’s battling a disease or someone who’s been through trauma. Hosting a drive through the Replenish the Need Blood Drive Program is a special way to honor a loved one.
